Fall has officially arrived.? Well, I suppose as best it can in Texas.? At least it?s not in the 90?s every day now. And with the (somewhat) cooler temperatures comes the warm, hearty food that I love to serve in big, deep dinner bowls.
I?m still figuring out a few tricks in dealing with the newfound wheat/rice allergy of our now 10-year-old, but I think we?re making progress, for sure.? It?s not so intimidating anymore.
So far, we?ve basically figured out to go about our eating as normal and just adjust as needed to customize to Dylan?s diet.? We?ve almost completely stopped eating pizza, because you can?t order anywhere and get a wheat-free AND rice-free pizza crust.? And I haven?t tried to make wheat-free pizza dough myself, yet.? I will get there, though.? We also have cut WAY down on eating any bread with dinner.? Dylan likes rolls, and so until I can find something that is good-tasting to him, I can?t bear the idea of the rest of us getting to enjoy bread while he doesn?t.? And truly, I don?t miss the bread so much, anyway.? Neither does my waistline.? I am happily holding steady with my weight loss after 42 Days to Fit.
Here?s what is on our menu this week:
