Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins' downtown condominium will be sold at auction next month as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins' downtown condominium is in foreclosure and will be sold at auction next month as part of bankruptcy proceedings, the News & Record reports.

Perkins filed for bankruptcy in April. He told the newspaper he plans to move from the Center Pointe condo to another apartment or townhome.

A bankruptcy judge has also lifted a stay on property Perkins owns on St. Andrews Road in Greensboro, and that property could also be foreclosed upon.

Perkins, a partner at the real estate firm NAI Piedmont Triad, has said that the recent down years in real estate as well as issues related to his divorce have caused his financial woes.

Federal bankruptcy records show Perkins is $10.8 million in debt.
